Professor Hannu Kähönen is particularly well known as an inventor and developer of versatile design innovations all over the world, in the meanwhile, he was grated by the President of Finland the Artist professor. He is also the leader of International Integrated Innovation team, GDUT, China.

During his more than 30 years of design career, he has won numerous awards, including:

Grated by Association of Finnish Art in 2011 the Muoto Award for professional career in industrial design

Kaj Franck Design Prize in 2009, grated by The Finnish Trade Fair Foundation;

iF(International Forum) Product Design Award, grated by the International Forum Design GmbH, Hannover, Germany in 2007

Granted by The President of Finland in 2006 the Pro Finlandia medal

Granted by The President of Finland in 2001 the Artist Professor

The City of Helsinki 450 Years medal, granted by the Mayor of Helsinki in 2000

Received the Finnish Professional Design Award in 1999

He has been responsible for several famous projects，including: Helsinki City Light Rail Research and Design Project; Finnish Traffic Network Barrier-free Design and Product Planning Research Project; Helsinki Metro, Siemens M300 Metro Exterior, Interior and Cockpit Research and Design Project; research and design project for The world's first GPS positioning mobile phone with Benefon; collaborative design and research with Abloy Oy over 10 years, one of the leaders of world's security system.
